Co-Living
Dialexa EDU 2023 Web Design
As part of Dialexa's 2023 EDU Design Competition, the concept CoLiving was created as a way for potential Dallas residents and transplants to build their own communities rather than settling for an apartment or neighborhood. CoLiving connects strangers and local businesses to form a personalized community experience with the promise of affordability and a short-term commitment.
For this project, I contributed to ideating, wireframing, and prototyping, working alongside my colleagues to generate a fully functional high-fidelity prototype in six weeks.
USER ENGAGEMENT
With the goal of Co-Living being community engagement and control over where they live, the Homepage was set to reflect that by allowing the user to select how they would like to interact with their community as either a resident or a business looking to expand.
PERSONABILITY
To allow users to fully customize their community experience, they are prompted during the onboarding process to select tiles corresponding to their personalities, hobbies, and living styles to build or find a community that represents their lifestyle.
COMMUNITY VIBES
EARLY USER FEED
LATE USER FEED
◀
In the user feed, residents can find their neighbors to strike up a conversation, see what local businesses are contributing, and view a map of their community to find local events and restaurants
Periodically users can check their feed to see how their stretch goals for community developments have progressed
▶
◀
Overtime, building graphics representing groups of participants will fill up with "lit widows" to show how many participants have joined the community project
To build a sense of community before moving in, users can converse with their future neighbors and local businesses in an embedded chat board.

BEHIND THE SCENES
To find the MVP, a couple rounds of Crazy 8s were conducted to pull out the best, most wild ideas that solved our problem. From this, the idea to create a "build your own" community was born. Inspired by pop-up markets and digital nomad community housing, CoLiving gave users the control to create their own community with like-minded people and businesses rather than having to adjust to a new community after moving to Dallas.
After discovering the MVP, a user flow with a green happy path was created to map out the path a user would take to reach the end goal with CoLiving.
